How important is sustainability reporting?
From a legal perspective, the CSRD has given sustainability reporting the same status as financial reporting as of the end of the 2024 financial year. As WashTec attaches great importance to the transparency of its own activities in the area of sustainability, we have been publishing a voluntary sustainability report since 2021.
How is sustainability reporting organised internally?
We have appointed a project manager for sustainability reporting who coordinates the collection of information from the respective departments in close cooperation with the Sustainability Officer.
Can WashTec elaborate on what ESG requirements are specified in key account tenders and what aspects of WashTec’s sustainability initiatives are commercial differentiators?
Our customers’ requests for ESG activities are largely similar across all customers. The focus is on ensuring compliance with human rights, decarbonisation, energy reduction, supply chains, materials used and biodiversity.
WashTec’s initiatives and customer requirements are generally congruent, as we align our activities closely with the requirements of the market in addition to our own aspirations.
Commercial differentiators are certainly our activities in the development of smart services, for example, which help to minimise the consumption of resources in the operation of our systems.
